How to measure the iMaser's frequency stability?
In absence of a better frequency stability source than a maser, the true stability performance can be measured with 3 iMasers, which are compared against each other, through the “3-cornered hat” method described at www.wriley.com/3-CornHat.htm . Alternatively, an ultrahigh-stability Cryogenic Sapphire Oscillator can be used to measure the iMaser’s short term stability.
